Passenger bus overturns on Yangon-Mandalay Expressway

An express passenger bus overturned on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway at around 6:50 pm on March 13, according to a press release from the Expressway Fire Brigade.

A blue YUTONG express passenger bus, traveling from Nay Pyi Taw to Yangon, lost control of its speed at the intersection of mile post (117/3) on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway and overturned on the dirt road on the side of the expressway.

Five members of the Phyu Expressway Fire Station and nine members of the Phyu Expressway Police Station went to the scene of the accident to carry out rescue operations.

A total of 10 people, including five men, four women, and a child sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Phyu Township Hospital by EMS 192 ambulances owned by the Red Cross.
