The Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Thailand’s Minister for Foreign Affairs met to discuss border stability, peace, rule of law, and efforts to combat illegal trade and terrorism, sources said.
The SAC Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received the delegation led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Thailand, H.E. Mr Maris Sangiampongsa, met at the Bayintnaung Parlour in Nay Pyi Taw on the morning of February 22.
During the meeting, they discussed the conditions for continuing to strengthen the existing friendship and cooperation between the two countries and the two militaries, the conditions for investigating and taking decisive action against those involved in online scum (telecom fraud), online gambling, in cooperation with neighboring countries and international organizations, the conditions for Myanmar to take decisive action against online scum (telecom fraud), online gambling as a national responsibility, the conditions for continued cooperation in maintaining peace and stability, the rule of law, combating illegal trade and terrorism, and exchanging information in the border areas of the two countries, the conditions to hold a free and fair general election, and ways to upgrade cooperation between the two countries in all sectors.
The meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary of the Council, General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers, and senior military officers, Chief of Defense Forces of Royal Thai Armed Forces Gen. Songwit Noonpackdee, the Thai Ambassador to Myanmar, military attachés, and officials.
