The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, emphasized the need for the military to continue waging a just war in collaboration with local communities to counter the territorial expansion efforts of armed insurgents.

Speaking at the Passing out Parade of Thura Company of the 128th Intake of Officers Training Course of Defence Services (Army) Officers Training School (Bahtoo) on February 21, he highlighted the importance of unity among the people, government, and military to eradicate insurgency and terrorism, ensuring regional stability and development.

The Commander-in-Chief stressed that armed groups, driven by territorial ambitions, are destabilizing certain areas, harming local livelihoods, and endangering lives. He urged military units to work closely with civilians to maintain security and prevent oppression by armed factions. Additionally, he called for efforts to ensure free and fair elections, safeguarding citizens' voting rights.

He also noted that some ethnic armed groups, aligned with political entities like the NUG, CRPH, and PDF are using fear tactics to expand their control, further destabilizing regions and undermining peace. These actions, he argued, hinder the path to a federal democracy and threaten the lives and property of peaceful citizens.

The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, regional leaders, and families of the graduating cadets.
