Homemade remote-controlled mine discovered on Yangon-Mawlamyine railway in Thaton Township

According to local reports, a homemade remote-controlled mine was discovered on the Yangon-Mawlamyine railway section in Thaton Township, Mon State.

On the morning of January 30, around 9:00 AM, locals found the mine placed on a small bridge near Milepost 86 of the Yangon-Mawlamyine railway, between Naung Kula and Htein Pin villages in Thaton Township. They informed the village administration authorities, who then reported the incident to the relevant authorities. Officials arrived at the scene and handled the situation, according to a local source.

The source further stated, "The homemade remote-controlled mine was placed inside a white bag, with gun powder wrapped in a plastic bag and connected to a mobile phone. The responsible authorities successfully deactivated and removed the device."
