Three children drowned in the Ayeyarwady River while bathing, one of whom died, while the search for the other is ongoing, according to the Myanmar Rescue Organization (Pyay).

The incident occurred at around 1 pm on January 31, when three children were drowned while bathing in the Ayeyawady River near a park in Kannar Road, Pyay Township.

The Myanmar Rescue Organization (Pyay) launched an emergency search after some locals contacted them about the accident. One of the three missing children was rescued, while the other was found drowned at 2:47 pm, the organization said.

The search for the remaining child is ongoing.
