Explosion near Zeegone Village injures local man in Kyauktaga

An explosion in Kyauktaga  Township, located near Zeegone village in Myanmar’s Bago Region, has left one man injured. According to the Myanmar Police Force, the incident occurred on January 1, 2025, and the injured individual, identified as 48-year-old U Si Nel Dan, was admitted to the People’s Hospital in Kyauktaga Town at approximately 11:05 AM.

Reports indicate that U Si Nel Dan was working in a field about 300 yards east of his residence in Zeegone when the landmine, believed to have been planted by the People's Defense Forces (PDF), was triggered. The blast caused severe shrapnel injuries to the man.

Following the incident, local security forces have vowed to identify and prosecute those responsible for the landmine attack. An investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather more information and ensure accountability.
