Three family members were killed on the night of November 19 in Bayarthonezu town, Kyainseikkyi Township, Kayin State, according to residents.
Those who were killed were, U Rakhaing, a retired electrical worker, his daughter Daw Theint Theint Thu, who is a teacher and her eight-year-old son, who lives in staff housing in No.2 Ward, Bayarthonezu town, a local said.
He continued, “On the night of November 19, U Rakhaing and his family were abducted by a group of people in a Honda Fit car. It was a blackout at that time, so we didn't know who had taken them. In the morning, passers-by saw their bodies inside a rubber farm next to the road leading to Mekatha Village outside Bayarthonezu town”.
The resident said that U Rakhaing was found dead with his neck almost severed, and that Daw Theint Theint Thu had knife wounds all over her body and her eight-year-old son was found dead with a knife wound in his abdomen.
It is not yet known who killed them.
On June 6, a 30-year-old man, who works as a flower seller, living on Yay Twin Road, No.2 Ward, Bayarthonezu town, Kyainseikkyi Township, Kayin State, killed his wife with a knife and her two children were thrown into a well in the road and killed, according to the residents of Bayarthonezu town.
