Union Minister for Education Dr. Nyunt Pe announced that universities and degree colleges will officially open on November 21 for the new academic year. Enrollment will begin on November 14 and will continue without holidays.

The Minister emphasized the need for smooth enrollment processes to avoid difficulties for both new and returning students.

This announcement followed a coordination meeting on November 12 with key education officials, including university rectors, degree college principals, regional education officers, and professors. The meeting, held at the Ministry of Education in Nay Pyi Taw, focused on preparations for the upcoming academic year.

Dr. Nyunt Pe highlighted the importance of improving the quality of classrooms, student dormitories, and campus cleanliness ahead of the new term. He also stressed the importance of teaching subjects related to the Constitution and elections at least twice a month, urging educators to work diligently for the sector's development.

Deputy Ministers Dr. Zaw Myint and Dr. Moe Zaw Htun spoke about enhancing curriculum quality and improving private school standards. The meeting was attended by senior education officials, university leaders, and stakeholders via video conference.
