A fatal collision occurred between a 10-wheeler truck and a Hi-Jet vehicle at around 9:15 pm on October 23 in Ngantay Ward, Mawlamyine. The crash, which took place in front of Ngantay Housing, left one person dead and another injured.

According to a local resident, the 10-wheeler truck was heading toward Ngantay Ward, while the Hi-Jet was coming from the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. "I don't know how the accident happened, but I saw the driver of the Hi-Jet stuck inside the cabin. He was injured," the resident said.

Rescue teams from the Myanmar Fire Department and Mawlamyine social assistance were able to extract the trapped driver, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased and the injured were transported to Mawlamyine Hospital for further treatment.
