As of July 12, 2024, the Ayeyawady River in Mandalay is more than one and a half feet above the danger level, according to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

The river's water level, measured at 6:30 pm, was 1308 cm (42.91 feet), exceeding the danger level of 1260 cm (41.34 feet). The DMH predicts that the water level may drop by 3 inches in the next day but will likely remain above the danger level.

In response, water points have been opened at Nyaungkwe, Thayat Tabin, and Gawwin fire stations to monitor the rising levels. Mandalay's fire brigade and auxiliary fire brigade are on standby to provide timely assistance and rescue services for displaced residents.
