Firearms and ammunition seized from vehicle on Thaton-Hpa-an Road

On the morning of July 6, firearms and ammunition were seized from a vehicle at the Shwe Than Lwin tollgate on the Thaton-Hpa-an Road in Kyarpan Village, Thaton Township, Mon State

Around 9:30 AM, security personnel were conducting vehicle inspections at the Shwe Thann Lwin tollgate. They inspected a black Honda Fit with license plate YGN-7 / 4P-5792 traveling from Hpa-an to Thaton. The vehicle was driven by Aung Kyaw Moe, a 46-year-old resident of Kyaikhto.

During the inspection, authorities found a Turkey-made Glock pistol with 10 bullets and an American-made Police Shotgun Model Ten with 10 bullets. The security team confiscated the weapons and ammunition.

A security team source stated, "The individual apprehended with the firearms and ammunition is currently under investigation by the relevant authorities."

The driver is being investigated for the illegal transportation of the seized firearms and ammunition.
