Minister for Border Affairs discusses border development with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt. Gen. Tun Tun Naung and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Myanmar, Mr. Chen Hai, met at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Border Affairs on the afternoon of January 25.

During the meeting, they discussed issues related to the tasks of the ministry, such as stability and development of the border areas, services for the development of the human resources of the ethnic youth in the border region, issues that will continue to be cooperated according to the agreements for the development of Myanmar-China border areas, the conditions of preparations for re-examination and resettlement of displaced persons, which are being carried out by the Rakhine State Peace and Development Coordination Committee, status and developments of the national level committee on resettlement of IDPs and closure of temporary shelters, and peace making which the state government is trying to implement.

Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Border Affairs Major General Phyo Thant, Permanent Secretary, Director General and the Director General and officials of the Department of National Unity and Peacemaking attended the meeting.

Similarly, the Office No.(2) of the Chairman of the State Administration Council, Union Minister U Aung Naing Oo and the delegation led by Mr. Chen Hai, the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, met on the morning of January 25 at the State Administration Council office.

During the meeting, bilateral economic cooperation and Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone project cooperation issues were discussed in a friendly and open manner. Deputy Minister for the Office No.(2) of the Chairman of the State Administration Council and officials attended the meeting.
