Based on the results obtained from the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), the government is working for the long-lasting peace and from the Union Peace, we have to march towards development of the Nation said Chairman of State Administration Council (SAC)  Senior-General Min Aung Hlaing in his message to the 103 Anniversary of the National Victory Day.

He said these words in his message sent to the 103 Anniversary of the National Victory Day which falls on December 7.

The theme of the 103rd Anniversary of National Victory Day 2023 is “From peace of the Union towards the development of the State,” and so it is necessary to strive for handing over the invaluable heritage of peace to new generation youths by taking lessons from the past incidents. Hence, the government signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), playing a pivotal role in forging durable peace for the Union and opening the door to all ethnic armed organizations to join the NCA. Based on the results obtained from the signing of the NCA, the government is working for the long-lasting peace and from the Union Peace; we have to march towards development of the Nation, it said.

Moreover, the Tatmadaw has always protected the country whenever the country faced crisis from safeguarding three responsibilities such as not to disintegrate the Union, not to disintegrate the national Unity and to protect the sovereignty.

At present, they have protected the country from the situations of unfairly obtaining state power through the elections that will be dangerous for the state. And set an emergency period in accordance with the National Constitution (2008) and advance the processes for national stability and development. The Senior General said that now is the time for the government and the Tatmadaw to join hands in building the Union based on the democratic system and federalism through the united strength of all ethnic people.

The word democracy governance means the choice of majority, implementing the desire of the majority in accordance with law and federal means living together; being harmony; sharing and sharing the administrative responsibilities. In building a country based on democracy and federal system, leaders, those implement the system and practitioners need to be knowledgeable and skillful. The government is striving to implement a comprehensive education system to turn out the necessary human resources to build a modern, developed nation.

Youths are being nurtured at basic education schools as well as higher education institutions to become those with five physical and mental strengths. Moreover, they are under nurturing to become good citizens of the State with patriotic spirit and national spirit, and they must be capable of analyzing right and wrong and following laws and disciplines. Only then will those capable new generations be able to serve the future State.

If economic driving force improves, the role of politics and defense sector will become stronger and the country will become a developed nation. Therefore MSME should be encouraged and promoted. The government is promoting MSME businesses and is working towards the two national goals of the country which are, prosperity and food security.

The strength of the union is the region within the union. That unity is based on the unity of all ethnic groups born in the Union. The country will be stable, peaceful and modern country only if we can act work with national spirit avoiding personal biases, it said.

During colonial period, the education system was used as a weapon to prolong the lives of slaves and oppressed the Myanmar people to have a low intellectual level. On October 24, the British government approved the Rangoon University Act, merging Rangoon College and Jefferson College to form Rangoon University in 1920. Enacted on December 1st, the Act was a law that limited the number of Myanmar people from getting university education and limited the number of educated people. The GCBA special conference was held at Jubilee Hall in Yangon on June 17th and 18th, 1920. When the students protested against the Yangon University Act, the 10th day of the full moon of Tansaungmong was designated as "National Day " , and because that day was a day of revolutionary victory against the oppression of the British imperialist government , they also called it "National Victory Day " . National Victory Day celebrations, which coincided with the history of the struggle for independence, have been held annually across the country for 103 years, it said.
