Denko fuel station in Chintheyay Village, Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, was attacked with a mine on November 25, police sources said.

At 6:10 am on November 25, ten PDF (people’s defence force) members wearing masks arrived at the Denko fuel station, threatened the staff with guns and forced them out of the station. Then, the PDF members attacked the petrol station with a mine resulting in an explosion and flames. Receiving the information about the attack, security forces and firefighters rushed to the scene. The fire could be extinguished 30 minutes later.

The fire burned down a prime pump, two Napsal pumps and goods from the shop next to the station. Four home-made mines and planted in one fuel pump and three oil tanks, as well as a China-made string grenade were found and deactivated.

Members of the security forces are investigating the perpetrators of the incident to take effective legal action.
