An 11 years old boy from Taung Talaunt village in Lashio Township died after stepping a landmine, according to local sources.

Receiving inforamtion that a landmine victim was hospitalized in Lashio District hospital on the evening of August 3, security forces went to the hospital and inspected the case. The child died of wounds to the right lef and left torso caused by the landmine blast.

The child and his parents, while searching for mushroom at the west of village, the child stepped on the landmine and died in the explosion. Security forces are  investigating those involved in the incident to take action against them.
