Myanmar labour couple injured by lightning strike in Thailand

 A Myanmar  couple living at the construction staffquarters in Chunburi Province of eastern Thailand was injured after being struck by lightning on July 22, according to local sources.

Lightning struck them while they were using  their mobile phones. 

Neighbourhood residents said that it wasn’t raining heavily. But, they heard a loud voice of thunder and then they were struck by lightning. A husband become unconscious and his wife was injured.

The injured couple was sent to the Chunburi Hospital by a social welfare association.

“People should be careful in the rainy season. Such accidents frequently occur in the rainy season. Myanmar migrant workers from relevant provinces in Thailand should take a lesson from the Chunburi accident,” said Moe Gyoe, chairman of Joint Action Committee of Burmese Affaris-JACBA based in Thailand.
