Two years after military takeover, Myanmar’s ruling military makes changes to its cabinet

The government of the SAC shuffles it’s cabinet with 4 additional Deputy Prime Ministers and changes of the top post in four ministries, including the Foreign Ministry. 

In addition to Vice Senior General Soe Win, Defense Minister General Mya Tun Oo, Minister for Home Affairs Lieutenant General Soe Htut, Minister of Transportation and Communication General Tin Aung San, and Finance Minister U Win Shein were also appointed as Deputy Prime Minister. 

Vice Senior General Soe Win is also the Deputy Chairman of the SAC, while the four new Deputy Prime Ministers continue to hold their concurrent positions in their respective ministries. 

Foreign Minister U Wunna Maung Lwin is replaced by U Than Swe. U Min Naung is appointed as Agriculture Minister, U Aung Thaw is appointed as Hotel and Tourism Minister, and Jeng Phang Naw Taung is appointed as Minister of Ethnic Affairs
