MANDALAY-------A Moderate earthquake of magnitude (5.2) Richter Scale with its epicenter inside Myanmar (about (4) miles east of Tada-U), latitude 21.81 °N, longitude 96.03 °E, depth (63) kilometers, about (15) miles south-southwest of Mandalay seismological observatory was recorded at (03)hr (16) min (35) sec M.S.T on 15th  December, 2022.  

The dwellers from Tada-U and Paleik Townships in Mandalay Region and Sagaing Region vividly suffered from the moderate earthquake.

Due to the earthquake, the diamond bud of Padanmyar Ceti in the compound of Mani Yadana Monastery in Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay Region , fell down and other buildings also damaged.

“When I watched the World Cup, the whole house shook. Firstly, I thought that someone jumped my house. Later, I knew that my phone alerted the earthquake news. There was a moderate-to-strong earthquake. The objects in my house had fallen onto the floor,” said a local from Mandalay Region.

The social media pages described that a diamond bud of Padamyar Ceti in the compound of Mani Yadana Monastery in Pyigyitagon Township, Mandalay Region, fell down and ceilings of the Mani Yadana Monastery collapsed and there had been other damages.
