Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, who is in the Russian Federation met with H.E. Valery Falkov, Minister for Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and discussed cooperation issues for the development of the science and technology sector of the two countries, sources said.
The Myanmar delegation, led by the Union Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, who is in the Russian Federation to attend the 12th Nuclear Technology-based Innovation Forum (2022) and for a research study trip to the Russian Federation, along with Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Lwin Oo and the officials, went to meet with H.E. Valery Falkov, Minister for Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in Moscow in the morning of November 14.
In the meeting, they exchanged views on cooperation issues of sending scholars, increasing the number of scholarships, cooperation between universities, and for the development of the Myanmar-Russia science and technology sector.
Then, the Myanmar delegation led by the Union Minister went to the National Research University “Moscow Power Engineering Institute” (MPEI) and met with the officials of the university led by Rector Alexander Bryuk-hoveskovoe and discussed the issues of academics to be more efficient and effective.
Next, the Union Minister and his delegation met with officials from the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI) Rector Vladimir Schevchenko and visited and saw the university's teaching and learning, practical rooms and the research facilities and discussed about the science and technology sector and human resource development issues.
