Middle school student dies after testing positive for Covid-19 in Ottwin Township

A seventh-standard student had Covid-19 tested after having fell unconscious while playing at school, tested positive for the virus and died later in Ottwin Township, Bago Region, according to Yinkhonthan Shinthanyay aid organization. 

Ma Khin Ei Phyu living in Kyatthugin Ward (2), Ottwin, suddenly fell to the ground and became unconscious while playing with other students at Ottwin high school at about 10 am on September 5. She was sent by the aid organization to Taungoo People’s Hospital for emergency treatment.

The student was then transferred to Nay Pyi Taw Hospital (1,000 beds) with the help of a charity organization in Taungoo. But she died on September 6. When testing was conducted, she was found infected with the coronavirus. She had been cremated in Nay Pyi Taw, according to the charity organization. 

However, the child’s family members and 10 others having close contact with her tested negative.
