A building in 26th Street, Pabedan Township, Yangon, reportedly collapsed at the back on the morning of August 18.

The four-story building (No.65) located in the lower block of 26th Street had previously tilted, and it had collapsed by half since the night of August 17, said neighbourhood residents.

“The building had collapsed since last night. A few pieces had fallen down in recent days. With danger in sight, some people have already moved. This morning, the bathroom and toilet at the back collapsed completely,” said a dweller in 26th Street.

At present, some households still live in the building as they have difficulty with renting another apartments.

The building collapsed at the back from the top floor to the ground floor, while cracks have appeared in the walls of some flats at the back.
