Myitkyina, Putar-O Prisons release detained CDM employees

MYITKYINA------Nine of detained government employees who had participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) had been released from Myitkyina and Putar-O prisons in Kachin State, yesterday afternoon, according to the sources.

Myitkyina Prison released detained seven teachers and one judicial staff so also Putar-O Prison freed a civilian servant. 

"Government employees who had been charged with Section 505(a) were released from the Myitkyina prison. The police force withdrew the ongoing cases at the judicial department. So, we released the detained staffs. I don’t know about other prisons,” said an unidentified official from Myikyina Prison.

The Myitkyina Prison released eight of detained CDM government employees---- seven were teachers and one was judicial staff.

Among seven teachers, one was headmistress from Primary School in Waingmaw Township, Kachin State. Due to the protest, she was arrested on February 27th.

Moreover, detained six local farmers from Hopin and Moenyin Townships in Kachin State were released from the Moenyin prisons.
