Security has been tightened at general administration departments and police stations in Yangon Region following a series of explosions, said local residents.
The region has seen frequent explosions since late April.
Security measures include no access to the areas before community administration offices.
“Even bicycles cannot go past those offices. All cars and bikes have to bypass them,” said a local resident in North Dagon Township.
In nearby areas of some ward administration offices without any other routes to bypass, the streets are half opened.
At the administration offices in some wards, guest registrations are being conducted outside the offices.
“We can’t enter the office. We have to inform them about our guests outside. We are not allowed inside,” said a local resident in Thingangyun Township.
Similarly, security is being tightened at general administration departments on main roads and police stations.
The streets and roads near the offices give no access or allow only a car to enter after security checks.
In Yangon Region, several townships such as Hline, Tamway and Mayangone townships seen explosions that occurred near ward administration offices.
An explosion occurred near Latha Township Police Station on the night of May and another near a ward administration office in Hline Township after 5 am on May 5.
