COVID-19 positive patients and the patients with normal serious symptoms are allowed to be discharged from the hospital without taking a swab test after ten days as they are not infected to others after that period, said Professor Dr Myint Han, a retired director general who is giving technical support.
“According to later results we found, we are using symptom-based strategy and not test-based strategy. The virus from the COVID-19 positive patients and the patients with normal serious symptoms cannot be infected to others after ten days. The virus from the patients with serious symptoms cannot be infected to others after 20 days. But the patients need to wear masks and don’t go outside for one week during home quarantine. They need to use separate things such as bed sheets and pillows at home. And they need to stay away from others at home. They need to get fresh air in the house and wash their hands before using things,” he said.
