If there is any gathering of more than 50 people in election campaigns and rallies in the streets, action will be taken against them in accord with the code of criminal procedures as of October 29, according to the instruction issued by Myanmar Police Force.

Magway Region Chief Minister posted the instruction letter on his Facebook page on October 28.

He also posted a remark that the letter was submitted by the chief of Magway Region Police Force and it was initiated by the State Counsellor and the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The letter says the Union Election Commission would issue a statement on the ongoing election campaigns and rallies conducted by the political parties at 8 pm on October 28.

The instruction says the political parties are to follow the orders and instructions issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports in their election campaigns and rallies. They also need to have a permit granted by the Union Election Commission. In such election campaigns and rallies, they must not have a gathering of more than 50 participants.

For failure to follow the instruction, police will disperse the crowds and take action against them in accord with the code of criminal procedures (127/128).
