Two low pressure areas may form over the Bay of Bengal and one may further intensify into a depression.  Southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from northern Myanmar areas between September 13 and 18, central Myanmar areas between September 19 and 24 and deltaic areas between September 25 and 30. Monsoon will be moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal, according to the monthly forecast for September by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH).

Rain or thundershowers will be expected above normal in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Region and (southern and eastern) Shan State and about normal in Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon states, it said.

Rainy days will be expected 21 to 25 days in upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawaddy, Taninthayi regions and Kachin, southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon states, 16 to 20 days in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay Region and (northern and eastern) Shan, Kayah states and 11 to 15 days in lower Sagaing, Magway regions, it said.
