Two more returnees test positive for COVID-19

Two military personnel who returned from India, tested positive for COVID-19, according to the statement by the Tatmadaw True News Information Team on 3 July.

On 27 and 28 June, the army released the statements that 48 military service personnel who returned from India by the military flight after the completion of training course on 26 June, are being put in quarantine. Five out of 48 returnees tested positive for the virus.

The remaining 43 returnees on the same flight are being monitored. As two returnees showed signs of headache and fever, the samples were tested. They were found to be infected with the virus.

Both patients are being treated at the military liver specialist hospital in Mingaladon. Their health conditions are improving.

Till 3 July, there have been 306 confirmed cases and six deaths in Myanmar.

So far, 219 out of 237 recovered patients have been discharged from the respective hospitals.
