Yangon Region Minister for Immigration and Human Resources Moe Moe Su Kyi said that people living in Yangon Region must wear masks when going outside and that action will be taken against those not doing so.

A statement has issued that those who leave the house without wearing a mask and a gathering of more than 5 people in a place will be charged under the Preventive and Control of Communicable Disease Law issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports according to Moe Moe Su Kyi.

This regulation was implemented on May 11.

“It should be done that if people don’t wear masks, action will be taken for them. Then only, people will pay more attention in wearing masks. But, issuing warnings and notices must be made in advance. It is best if educating work can be done rather than taking action immediately. People can follow instructions if some time is given,” said MP Nyi NYi from South Dagon Township Constituency (1).

In Mandalay Region, a similar statement is made to wear masks. Education period will be from May 9 to 15 and beginning from May 16, a fine of Ks.5000 must be paid for two masks according to the statement issued on May 8 by Mandalay Region Government.
