Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) received more than 9,300 complaints last year, with Yangon topping the list with 2238 cases.
The former Anti-Corruption Commission led by U Win Mra received 968 complaints in 2014, 983 in 2015, 710 in 2016 and 2014 in 2017.
The new Anti-Corruption Commission was formed on 23 November, 2017. The Anti-Corruption Commission led by former Information Minister U Aung Kyi received 10,543 complaints in 2018 and 9,394 in 2019.
From 2014 to 2017, there were no charges against political post holders and civilians. The commission brought charges against one high-ranking officer, 16 officers, 17 staff and 16 public servants.
In 2018 and 2019, the commission charged 186 officials including political post holders and civilians under the Anti-Corruption Law. In 2019, the commission investigated 84 complaints.
Last year, the commission received 9,394 complaints—486 from Nay Pyi Taw, 197 from Kachin, 35 from Kayah, 163 from Kayin, 75 from Chin, 932 from Sagaing, 160 from Taninthayi, 957 from Bago, 548 from Magway, 1,811 from Mandalay, 478 from Mon, 2,238 from Yangon, 271 from Rakhine, 537 from Shan and 1,116 from Ayeyawady.
