Co-organized by Fire Services Department and the French embassy, Introduction of Training for Access of Myanmar to International Qualification of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Light Team commenced at Myanmar Fire Services Department on October 28.
Fire Services Department Director General Myat Thu and French Ambassador Christian Lechervy made speeches at the course opening.
Myat Thu explained sharing of rescue work experiences by French Civil Defense and Fire Department and the international community with Myanmar, strengthening of cooperation between Myanmar firefighters and international organizations and benefits for formation of USAR Light Team.
The training course is being attended by 30 trainees selected by Myanmar Fire Brigade. They are being trained by 16 instructors led by Brigadier General Eric Peuch.
The course is from October 28 to November 1.
