Asian Football Confederation (AFC) confirmed Myanmar to play its world cup qualifier in Kyrgyzstan, sources said.
Myanmar Football federation (MFF) requested the AFC to play its world cup qualifying match against Kyrgyzstan in other countries as its AFC cup qualifying match against Kyrgyzstan was postponed on September 5, 2017 due to security reason. However the AFC replied to the MFF that they will increase security measure for Myanmar team and the match will be played in Kyrgyzstan.
“The AFC decided to hold the match in Kyrgyzstan and security officer from the FIFA will supervise it. Our team will go to Kyrgyzstan on October 7 three days before the match,” said the MFF general secretary Ko Ko Thein.
The match between Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar was postponed and replayed in South Korea in March 2018. Myanmar team arrived in Kyrgyzstan to play the match but the match was postponed due to security reason. Myanmar team lost its two matches for 2022 world cup qualifier. They lost 1-0 in Mongolia and they had been beaten 2-0 by Japan in their home ground. Kyrgyzstan lost 1-0 to Tajikistan in their away match.
