TAUNGGYI - There are 46 mini hydropower projects being implemented in Shan State under the supervision of the Shan State Government Committee, says Sai Shan Tit Lone, Minister of Electricity, Energy and Industry of the Shan State Government.

The Minister replied to queries raised by the MP Sai Lin Myat from Mong Shue Township at the 16th Shan State Regular Meeting held yesterday.

MP Sai Lin Myat asked how many power plant projects are now in Shan State and whether authorities will ensure greater transparency in EIA/SIA surveys.

The Minister replied that the Shan State government already signed the MoU for implementation of small power plants. There were totaling 46 small power plants including coal power plant, biofuel plant and Solar power plant. Plans were underway to ensure greater transparency in EIA/SIA surveys of the projects to the public.
