A total of three food boxes are start opened in three populated areas in Yangon on June 23 and food donated in the food boxes are run out in a few minute, according to people lived nearby.

The food boxes are placed near Tamwe Zay bus stop, near Dagon Center 1 and Hledan.

They are being organized by KMS construction and snacks, soft drinks and drinking water are placed in the food boxes.

“We planned for it for a long time and intended to have merits through donation. We will supply food two or three times a week regularly in the food box. We placed breads, energy drinks, fried potatoes and drinking water in the food box. We are only donating food and people should not say about someone who took two or three snacks at a time. They may have children who cannot come to the food box to take food,” said an official from the construction company.

Photos of a woman who took snacks from the food box spread around in social media on the evening of June 23 and people gave different views on the social media.

A man opened a shop near the food box in Tamwe Zay bus stop said, “The food box is being placed around 2 pm and all snacks are gone within two or three minutes. People who visited the food box took four or five snacks for each. They have no discipline and manner. If each person took one pack of snack, the food will be left for late comers. I want to advice that a person should be assigned to watch over it.”

Food boxes are opened in Mandalay, Monywa, Mawlamyaing and some other towns.
