Woman attempts robbery at Mandalay phone shop, stabs employee with knife

A robbery attempt occurred at a phone shop in Mandalay when a woman stabbed a shop employee with a knife on the morning of November 18 at around 9 a.m., according to reports.

The incident took place at a phone shop located on 69th Street, between 38th and 39th Streets, in MahaKhaing Ward-1, Mahaaungmyay Township.

At approximately 9 a.m. on November 18, a 23-year-old woman entered the shop and requested to withdraw 5 million MMK via KPay. The shop staff informed her that such withdrawals could only be made at the bank.

Subsequently, the woman handed her phone to the staff, requesting assistance to check it. While the employee was examining the phone, the woman suddenly stabbed him with a knife. The suspect, who attempted to commit the robbery, has been apprehended and is currently under investigation.
