A 100-house administrator was killed and several explosions occurred at the top of Manpyay 20 Street in Thakayta Township, Yangon, at around 8 am on May 27 (today), said neighbourhood residents.

“People in our community said a shooting incident happened at the top of Manpyay 20 Street. We heard that the 100-house administrator was lying at home after returning from outside when he was shot dead. Moreover, at least four explosions were heard right there. Another explosion occurred near 3 Market. We also heard two other explosions near Ward-2 Police Station in Thakayta Ward 10, said nearby dwellers.

The deceased was Phone Ngwe, a 100-house administrator of Manpyay 3 East Ward. Reports went on vial on Facebook that he was shot dead but there is no confirmation yet.

After the explosions, police and soldiers were placing some blockages on Manpyay Road for checks.

On May 18, a ward administrator was found dead with his head wide open after he had visited the Lanmadaw Township Administration Office where an explosion occurred.
