MUSE----Panhsan (Pankham) town of Wa Self-administered zone is under lockdown since the beginning of January 6th while all residents undergo COVID-19 testing.

“We have launched the Lockdown plan since the beginning of January 6th and conduct COVID-19 tests for all residents. Lockdown plan is aimed to prevent measures against the Coronavirus. We are going to wait a few days for the testing period,” said Nyi Yan, Wa State’s Liaison Office (Lashio).

The Wa State Health Department reported that totaling 79,308 residents in Wa State had received COVID-19 tests starting from December 5th to January 4th. But, totaling 84 dwellers had tested positive for COVID-19 and there was no fatality.

Moreover, the Wa State Health Department issued the COVID-19 instructions saying that no one except officials was allowed to go outside. All officials must receive COVID-19 tests on January 3rd, 4th and 5th. The current COVID-19 test must be recognized. All Pankham residents and those who returned from other states and regions must receive the COVID-19 test as free of charge. If the residents will violate the COVID-19 guidelines, they must take actions severely.

The dwellers may ask for emergency cases to the Pankham Township Police State and then officials will be informing the dwellers to lift the lockdown period.

The medical experts of the Red Cross Association from People’s Republic of China and Wa State Health Department are now providing medical treatments to the infected patients. But, no one seriously suffers from the virus.

In Wa State, the first COVID-19 patient was a Chinese citizen. He lived in Mongla about 4 days ago. Later, he proceeded to Panhsan Township by Taxi.
