Movement in the village of Tiddim Township, Chin State, where the COVID-19 infected man held a wedding reception, has been restricted, and the exits and entrances of Kalay and Tiddim towns will also be restricted, said President Office spokesperson Zaw Htay on his Facebook page.

“Lockdown or community quarantine has started for the village where the Chin man staged his reception. All people who had close contact with him have been separated for quarantine. We have also kept control of those who tried to flee to Sagaing in panic,” he said in his Facebook post.

He also wrote about a 14-day quarantine of returnees from foreign countries and home quarantine of families from the places the infected man went to including a photo studio.

“All those who had contact with infected people are urged to go to the health department in an honorable manner. This will ensure that they themselves and their families, environs, and towns are free from danger,” Zaw Htay commented.
