MONYWA------The Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) from Sagaing Region held a press conference yesterday on the death of a villager during the clash between the supporters, according to party’s Sagaing branch secretary Aung Zaw Oo.

A man was injured, and died later, in a clash between the USDP supporters and the National League for Democracy (NLD) supporters in Karboe village in Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region on October 21st.

Aung Zaw Oo said that he was saddened as a man from Karboe village had died during a quarrel between people supporting both parties.

“A clash between USDP’s supporters and NLD’s supporters took place in Karboe village, Kantbalu Township, Sagaing Region on October 21st. A man was injured in a clash. Later, he was sent to the Mandalay People’s Hospital. But, he died on October 22nd. It was very sad news for us all when a man died after a clash among the supporters. Not only USDP but NLD didn’t want the clash to happen. We are going to fairly compete in the general election 2020. We held this press conference for all to know all about the accident,” said Aung Zaw Oo.

He also said that the USDP didn’t hold mass campaign rallies during September due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Sagaing Region.

But, USDP launched a door-to-door canvassing campaign and educational talks in Sagaing Region. At that time, they had faced the obstacles of their rival party, according to Aung Zaw Oo.
