The Union Election Commission (UEC) has announced that the elected Hluttaw representatives in the second phase of the election must submit their election expenses to the relevant election commission within 30 days from the date of announcement of their names.
The phase 2 of the multiparty democratic general election was held in 100 townships on January 11, 2026. According to the Section 102 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules, within 30 days from the date of announcement of the names of the elected Hluttaw representatives by the relevant Region or State Hluttaw Election Commission, the Hluttaw candidates who contested in each constituency must submit their election expenses in Form 20 to the relevant Hluttaw Sub-Commission or the district Hluttaw Commission designated by the Commission where they submitted their nomination papers.
If the Hluttaw candidates and their election agents who contested the election fail to submit their election expenses within the specified date, they will be declared disqualified under the Section 109 of the relevant Hluttaw Election Rules.
Therefore, the Union Election Commission has issued a notice requiring parliamentary candidates and their election representatives who contested the election to submit their election expense reports within the specified date.
