The course is aimed at systematically conducting the programs to be done for the pre-election, election and post-election periods.  It is very important as the election planning methods for the systematic operation of the electoral processes. Trainees need to pay more attention to the course and to use the advantages of India’s electoral planning methods in Myanmar’s election processes.

This is the 5th capacity building course jointly conducted by the UEC and the Indian Election Commission. Two courses were conducted in India and the rest in Myanmar. A total of 100 staff have undergone training. The ceremony was attended by the UEC members and  India International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDEM).

On May 30, the UEC ruled that the NLD candidate who remonstrated with the USDP’s elected candidate Nay Myo Aung, secured the seat for Seikkan Township Constituency-2 in the 2018 by-election. Some political parties have criticized the UEC's decision.

The UEC will rule on the submission of the remonstration letter by the SNLD candidate Nan Hom Htwe against the NLD’s elected candidate Sai Tun Sein in 2018 by-election in Mandalay Region.
