The Union Election Commission (UEC) has announced that university, degree college, and college students will be able to cast advance votes from November 17 to November 21.
The relevant ministries are preparing to reopen universities, degree colleges, and colleges soon. Since these institutions will be open during the general election period—December 28, 2025—students will be attending classes at that time. Among them are students who will be studying at universities, degree colleges, and colleges located outside their registered constituencies, the UEC stated.
To ensure that these students do not lose their right to vote, those who will turn 18 years old by December 28, 2025, and are legally eligible to vote may cast their advance votes before leaving for their respective schools. They may do so between November 17 and November 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the ward or village tract sub-election commission office where they are registered.
Voters must present their national identification card and their student identification card or admission document issued by the respective university, degree college, or college when voting in advance, according to the Union Election Commission.
