A man was injured in an explosion on Bo Yar Nyunt Road, Yaw Min Gyi Ward, Dagon Township at around 10 am on June 16, according to locals.
The former Yangon Region Military Office is located at the top of Bo Yar Nyunt Road near the scene of the explosion. Former military leaders such as former Commander-in-Chief Ne Win were based in that office.
A resident of Yaw Min Gyi ward said, "The explosion took place at around 10 am on Bo Yar Nyunt Road. There is a military defense office at the top of that road. It is just an empty office. It can be said that it is an old office. A man lost his leg in the explosion. His injury is serious.”
An investigation is under way into whether the injured man was a civilian or a man who came to plot the bomb attack.
After the explosion, it is reported that security forces have arrived at No.1 B.E.H.S Dagon and Yaw Min Gyi Ward including Bo Yar Nyunt Road to inspect and provide security.
In addition, another bomb exploded near the exit of the Yangon East District Court on Ayeyawon Road around 7:30 am in Thaketa Township, according to residents.
An unidentified man fired a homemade bomb and fled. Currently, security forces are deployed near the entrance and exit of the Yangon East District Court.
