Two-billion dollar Eco-Green City Project under way

The Construction Ministry will develop the Eco-Green City Project in Hlegu Township in Yangon in three phases.

The project aims to develop a new urban project included in the Yangon Vision 2040, drafted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and rental and low-cost housing projects for low-income families and promote the living standard of locals through job creation.

The Eco-Green City Project, which will be jointly developed by the Construction Ministry and Alliance Star Group of Companies, has a total area of 1,453 acres.

The project is expected to cost a rough estimate of USD two billion and can house 30,000 to 40,000 populations. The project will be developed in two steps.

The construction period of the project will be 10 years. The project is located between Milepost-3/0 and 5/4 on Yangon-Mandalay Highway in Tharyargonesakhangyi village in Hlegu Township.
