A total of 93 companies put in US$1.52 billion worth of investments from November 25 2014 to March 31 2018 in Thilawa Special Economic Zone (SEZ), according a financial report of Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) for 2017-18 FY.

Foreign investments in the SEZ are as per following: US$483 million in 24 investments from Singapore, US$425 million in 32 investments from Japan, US$168 million in 13 investments from Thailand, US$54 million in 4 investments from South Korea, US$47 million in 5 investments from Hong Kong, US$36 million in 3 investments from Myanmar, US$20 million in one investment from the United Kingdom, US$19 million in one investment from United Arab Emirates, US$16 million in one investment from Taiwan, US$15 million in one investment from Malaysia, US$15 million in one investment from Austria, US$12 million in one investment from Pamana, US$8 million in one investment from Brunei, US$7 million in two investments from Vietnam, US$7 million in one investment from Australia and US$1 million in one investment from Netherlands respectively.

Investments in sectors made in the SEZ are as per following: US$1.039 billion in 70 businesses in industrial sector, US$111 million in six businesses in trading sector, US$82 million in seven businesses in services sector, US$77 million in eight businesses in transportation and logistics sector, US$30 million in one business in housing development sector and US$12 million in one business in hotel sector respectively.
