As fuel stocks are still in a process of being taken out in Thilawa, some fuel stations in Yangon have said they are facing shortages and are unable to sell fuel.

Since this morning, some fuel stations in Yangon could not have sold fuel, while some outlets sell with limitation, car owners said.

“The fuel shortage started since yesterday night. This morning, many fuel stations were unable to sell petrol. Some fuel stations sold with limitation,” said one of the petrol users who bought the fuel at the petrol shop in Thakayta Township, Yangon Region.

The fuel shortage casues the result in long queues of vehicles.

One of the car owners said that many fuel stations have no gasoline but diesel is available.

Some fuel stations announced that the sale of gasoline types will be temporarily closed before they go to pick up fuel in Thilawa.

Today, gas prices in Yangon Region are Ks.2510 per litre for 92 Ron, Ks.2640 per litre for 95 Ron, Ks.2210 per litre for a diesel and Ks.2305 per litre for premium diesel.
