Tatmadaw regarded Arakan Army (AA) as insurgents, said Maj-Gen, Chairman of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

The press conference organized by Tatmadaw was held at Defence Service Museum in Nay Pyi Taw on March 25.

At the press conference, a reporter asked TTIT how it expressed opinion about deep of commitment and bilateral agreement.

“Tatmadaw (defence service) regards the AA as insurgents,” said Maj-Gen Soe Naing Oo.

Tatmadaw regarded the AA as insurgents because they were committing the acts of killing and threatening those carrying out rule of law at the different administrative levels, said Maj-Gen Tun Tun Nyi, Vice-Chairman of TTIT.

“The AA did unlawful acts such as killing, threatening, bulling and asking extortion money. Therefore, we regarded the AA as the insurgents,” said Maj-Gen Tun Tun Nyi.

All the people residing in the Union of Myanmar need to stay united. We are facing different forms of danger. At such a time, we need to live as a unity. We are all citizens. Hatred should be removed from our minds and it should not be bred among our citizens. Tatmadawmen are citizens, the people are also citizens and EAOs are the same matter. We are also paving the way for the peace road for the EAOs. We won’t change our stance, said Maj-Gen Tun Tun Nyi.

The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services mentioned consolidation, unity and peace for several times. If there is no stability and peace, economy, politics and social affairs will not be in place, said Maj-Gen Tun Tun Nyi.
