Tatmadaw family members donate cash for IDPs in Rakhine State

The Tatmadaw family members (Army, Navy, Air) donated Ks 500 million for the internal displaced persons(IDPs) in Rakhine State, according to Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Spokesperson of Military True News Information Team.

“We held the ceremony to donate cash assistance for IDPs in Rakhine State at the Rakhine State Government Committee’s Office on November 20th. The cash assistance was donated by the Tatmadaw family members from Army, Navy and Air forces,”said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

Rakhine State Finance, Revenue, Planning and Economic Minister Kyaw Aye, Municipal Affairs Minister Win Myint and Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Mine Minister Kyaw Lwin accepted those cash assistance presented by Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein from Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services (Army) office.

Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun also said that the Tatmadaw[military] had differentiated between Arakan people and the Arakan Army-AA. So, they provided the humanitarian assistance for the IDPs in Rakhine State.

All Arakan Students & Youths’ Congress released a statement that there were over 50,000 IDPs taking shelters at the refugee camps in nine townships in Rakhine State and Paletwa Township in Chin State due to ongoing fights between Tatmadaw and AA since the beginning of December last year.
