Tatmadaw will temporarily suspend all military operations nationwide except for defense and administrative issues till February 28, announced the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services on January 28.

It said the Tatmadaw will suspend all military operations nationwide except in the places, where terrorists' groups are based, from February 1 to 28 to increase the protection, control and treatment of COVID-19 and to continue negotiations to implement eternal peace successfully.

The announcement urged the ethnic armed groups to continue negotiations to have eternal peace in the period when the military operations are temporarily suspended.
