Survey conducted for nomination of Myanmar Thanakha on UNESCO list

Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture is conducting a survey for the nomination of Myanmar Thanakha on the list of UNESCO’s world culture heritage, according to its statement. 

According to the ministry’s statement on 27 January, the people can give comments via http://suvery.app.do/2764148 described on the ministry’s facebook page titled “MORAC-Culture News”.

In the statement, the country’s intangible culture heritages are in need of international-standard conservation in order that others cannot imitate the culture heritages meeting the standards. The ministry starts working to nominate Myanmar Thanakha culture and tradition to the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of the UNESCO.

Myanmar Thanakha meets five domains of the UNESCO  Convention 2013, represents the national culture and characteristics and is valued and conserved by the whole Myanmar human society. It also plays an important role in the daily life of Myanmar people such as economy, social and religion. The ministry plans to nominate Myanmar Thanakha on the list as it meets set standards.

The ministry urges the citizens who have been conserving Myanmar Thanakha as the cultural heritage, to fill in the survey form.
