Supervisory board to monitor private schools

The 22-member private school supervisory board including five members from the Basic Education Department, will scrutinize and supervise the private schools nationwide, said Union Minister for Education Dr. Myo Thein Gyi yesterday on August 19.

The Union minister replied to the MPs’ discussions over the report (from October 10, 2018 to April 9, 2019 submitted by the National Education Commission. 

“Education officers from relevant education officer offices in the regions and state under the education ministry, conduct checks on the private schools occasionally, in accordance with the laws and bylaws,” he added. 

The ministry introduced KG+12 education system since 2016-2017 academic year. In 2019-2020 academic year, the ministry also introduced the new syllabuses for Grade-3 and Grade-6 students and gives training to teachers, he continued.
